
Obituary of William George Woolridge
Passed peacefully away on December 26, 2022, William George Woolridge at the Killick Retirement Home in Botwood. He was 88 years of age. Mr. Woolridge retired from Abitibi Price in 1997. George married the love of his life Joan Andrews on May 19, 1961 and spent 61 wonderful years together. During which time they raised five children and Joan’s brother Ted, who by George was considered a son. George’s passion in life was his wife, children and grandchildren and working hard to provide for them. Another passion of George’s which came second only to his family, was spending time on the river salmon fishing. He also enjoyed a good card game at the 50 plus club and sitting alongside his wife playing tv bingo.
George was predeceased by his parents Alex and Daisy Woolridge; brother Henry; sisters Rowena, Sheila and Priscilla. He leaves to mourn his wife Joan Woolridge (Andrews), son Derrick (Donna) Woolridge, Ted “who was raised like a son” (Joanne) Andrews; daughters Rhonda (Derrick) Chippett, June (Guy) Rowsell, Dianne (Rodney) Rowsell, Neta (George) Barnes;step-grandchildren Christopher and Sarah Ann; step great grandson Dallas; sisters Doris, Evelyn, Florence, Anne, Beatrice, Phyllis, Judy; brothers Leonard, Fred, David; grandchildren Jonathan, Vickilyn, Kellie, Kendra, Kelsey, Melissa, Lucas, A.J.; great grandchildren Grace, Caiden, Nate, Emma, Jonathan and a large circle of other relatives and friends.
A special thank you to Dr. Jody Woolfrey for our Fathers care over the years and the staff at the Killick Retierment Home. Although he was only there for a short period of time, he became very fond of each one of them.
Urnbearer will be his son Derrick Woolridge.
If you are attending the visitation or the funeral service, the family kindly asks that a mask be worn for each event. Thank you.
