Obituary of Florence Eleanor Boone-Billings

Florence Eleanor Mae passed peacefully away on Dec. 12, 2022, surrounded by her family at the Central Health Long Term Care Facility in Grand Falls-Windsor. Florence was born to Abraham and Eva Boone on July 5, 1944 at South East Arm, NL. Early in life she accepted Jesus unto her heart. On April 13, 1961 she married Oliver Boone (deceased in 1999) Together they raised 8 children. DUring her years living in Cottrell's Cove she was a faithful member of the Pentecostal Church. She was a sunday school teacher for many years and served on the women's ministires executive. She served her Lord faithfully until he called her home. She started attending Evangel Pentecostal Church after moving to Grand Falls- Windsor, making it her home church and she loved her church family. On August 17, 2007 she married Truman Billings (deceased in 2021). One could describe our mother as a kind and compassionate person, always caring for the well being of others. Next to her Lord, her family was her top priority. 

She is predeceased by her parents Abraham and Eva Boone, sister Nancy Winsor, brother Clancey Boone, special brother Arch Stuckless, first husband Oliver Boone, second husband Truman Billings, granddaughter Cassandra Bursey, great grandson Blake Higgins, and nephew Jonah Winsor. 

She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children, Grace (Wally), Peter, Roger (Pauline), Ivy (Roy), Ivan, Raymond, Paul (Tammy) and Fern (Darin), 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, special nieces, Sherry, Donna, and Vanda and nephew Wade Jr., brother-in-law Wade Winsor, stepdaughters and the Billings family. 

Special thanks to all the nursing staff at the Long Term Care Facility for their loving care of our mother. 

Pastor Geoff Slade will conduct the funeral service from Evangel Pentecostal Tabernacle on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 11am. Interment will follow at the Pentecostal Cemtery in Cottrell's Cove. Pallbearers will be sons, Peter, Roger, Raymond, Ivan and Paul and grandson Darrel. Honorary pallbearers are daughters, Grace, Ivy and Fern.
