Obituary of Edward Gerald Thorne

On November 30, 2022, Edward Gerald Thorne peacefully passed away at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor.  He was 70 years of age.

Ed was well-known for his fun and jovial nature.  He is fondly remembered by many students and colleagues from his teaching career spanning 40 years at the College of North Atlantic, where he was a math and ABE educator at the Baie Verte, Gander, Grand Falls-Windsor and Qatar campuses before retiring.

He is predeceased by parents Edward and Olive Thorne, sister Maradell, stepson Robert Chafe, stepdaughter Marelyn Adams, and step-grandson Robert Adams.

Left to mourn are wife of 44 years Evelyn Thorne, son Terry (Carissa) Thorne, stepson Ross (Kathy) Chafe, step-grandchildren Maggie Chafe and Bruce Chafe, sisters Elsie (John Woodford) and Dorothy (George Perry), brother Robert (Lisa), nieces Olivia, Ashley, and Melanie, and a circle of other relatives and friends.
