
Obituary of Lloyd George Hemeon
On November 25, 2022, Lloyd George Hemeon, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed peacefully away after a short illness at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Healthcare Center. He was 90 years old.
George was born to Mary (Hoddinott) and George Hemeon on January 3, 1932. He was born and raised on King’s Ridge Road where he lived his entire life and had no desire to leave. George had a love for horses, old western movies, Hank Williams’ songs, going up in his shed, and was well known for his plaid shirts and blue jeans. But above all, he loved his family. On March 28, 1958 he married Nancy Andrews and they had one child, Lana. George went to work with the A.N.D company at the age of 16 which later would become Abitibi were he retired in 1989.
George was predeceased by his mother and father, Mary and George Hemeon, and his parents in law, Gertrude and Claude Andrews. Sisters, Eleanor, Margaret, and Netta, and brothers Ted, Scott, Wilson, and Reginald.
Left to mourn is his wife, Nancy, daughter Lana (John) and grandchildren, Jennifer (Richard), Jonathan (Nancy), and Jillian (Adam). Six great-grandchildren, Jane, Ben, Travis, Heidi, Julia, and Lindsey. He also leaves his sisters Carrie and Trixie and a special sister in law, Myra Bourne. As well as a very large circle of nieces and nephews and friends.
Pastor Moral Bess will conduct funeral services at Jubilee Pentecostal Temple in Botwood on Tuesday, November 29, 2022. Interment to be held at the Pentecostal cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Homes in Botwood. Pallbearers are: Adam Manuel, Richard Gill, Peter Bursey, Bob Hemeon, Harvey Roberts, and Bruce Gill. Honorary Pallbearers are: John Sharron, Jonathan Sharron, Jillian Sharron, Jennifer Gill, and Paul Bourne.
