Obituary of Jack Jefferies

Please share a memory of Jack to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that the family of Jack Jefferies announce his sudden passing on November 22, 2022 at the James Peyton Memorial Hospital in Gander.

Jack is predeceased by his daughter Tammy Hutchings, parents Kate and Wesley Jefferies, sisters Maisie and Barbara Jefferies, Shirley Nicholas and Judy Estell.

Jack leaves to mourn his wife Nina, sisters Maxine, Angela (Gerry), Linda and Donna (Pearce), brothers Fred (Alma), Tom (Carol) and Brian (Jocelyn), daughter Tracey (Mike), Jamie (Krista), grandchildren Zack, Jesse (Miranda), Abbey and Jackson.

Jack loved his work as a plasterer and painter. He was a hard worker but was always singing on the job and making jokes with everyone. Later in his career, he worked alongside his son Jamie. He was a meticulous worker and could drive around any neighborhood and point out all of the houses he worked on.

As a young man, Jack loved it in the woods, on skidoo and cutting wood for himself and others. He loved the outdoors, going ice fishing and moose hunting with his kids.  He lived for his children and grandchildren. Zack and Jack spent hours driving around looking at Cadillacs.  He loved listening to Jesse play music and to sing along with him. He was always singing rhymes and songs with Abbey. He was an excellent babysitter, and would rush to Tammy’s at a moment's notice to look after Jesse and Abbey, even if he didn’t always stay awake the whole time. Nina, Jack and Jackson took many summer road trips, exploring the province making sure Jackson always had an adventure. Jack loved his Tim Hortons, it was his place to visit with all of his friends at any time of day.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, November 25, 2022 at Bethel Pentecostal Tabernacle in Laurenceton.
