Obituary of Donald E Smith

Please share a memory of Donald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Passed peacefully away on November 12, 2022 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Donald Emmanuel Smith at the age of 73. He is predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Alice Smith; brothers Ivan, Gord and Bill, sisters Gertrude, Eileen and Grace. He leaves to mourn his sons, Emmanuel (Amanda) Smith, Randy Smith and Jason Smith; sisters, Gladys/Franise Newhook; brothers, Ralph (Darlene) Smith and Roland Smith; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a circle of other relatives and friends.

Don was the type of person who found happiness out in his shed picking at and fixing tractors, cars, bikes and whatever he had around. He was always so proud to show his son what he had rigged up and for anyone who knows him knows every other week he had something new to fix.

Don had quite the love for anything John Deere, and one year for his birthday his son & grandson gave him a John Deere barrel chair and his granddaughter gave him a John Deere tea mug, You wouldn’t be able to find someone more proud of a gift that’s for sure.

Most of all Don loved having his grandchildren over for sleepovers when they were little, which he still spoke of often and how much he missed it. He truly thought the world of all 6 of them.

Don will be remembered by his foolish & loving personality who was up for anything.
