Obituary of Gregory Lyver

Passed peacefully away November 9, 2022 Gregory Lyver in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. He was 86 years of age. Mr. Lyver retired from Department of Transportation. Gregory married Nellie in Fortune Harbour on March 19, 1959 and spent 63 wonderful years married to his best friend; during which time they raised eleven children together in Fortune Harbour.

 

Predeceased by his parents Bernard and Bridget Lyver, sister Catherine (Frank) Knight, brothers John and Walter Lyver, daughter Bernadette Lyver, brother-in-law Dave Toms and son-in-law Harold Squires.

 

Left to mourn are wife Nellie Lyver, sons Gregory Lyver and Robert (Danielle) Lyver; daughters Denise Squires, Joan (Don) Corbin, Sheila (Steve) Roberts, Patricia (Kerry) White, Jacqueline (Milan) Moores, Michelle (Dave) Boone, Paula (Robert) Goodland, and Sharon (Rob) Billings; sisters Jane Toms, Josephine (Ed) Hennifent and Bride (Don) Boone; sister-in-law Joan Lyver; 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, as well as, a large circle of other relatives and friends.

 

The family would like to give a special thanks to the Palliative Care team and to all the people who have sent messages, phone calls, and food.

 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Mr. Lyver’s memory to St. Anne’s Parish in Fortune Harbour.

 

There will be a Rosary service held at Saint Anne's Parish, Fortune Harbour on Sunday, November 13 from 3:00-4:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
