Obituary of Geoffrey Millington Noseworthy
Geoffrey Millington Noseworthy, 85, of Botwood, went to be with the Lord on September 14, 2022 in Botwood.
Geoff was the youngest child of James (Uncle Jimmy) and Georgina (Rideout) Noseworthy. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family, being predeceased by sisters Renetta (Nettie Roberts), who was like another mother to him, Doris, and Minnie, as well as brothers Ted, Ron and Ken.
Besides his parents and siblings, Geoff was predeceased by his wife, Maisie (Power) in 2019, after 58 years of marriage. He was also predeceased by an infant daughter, Jacquelene.
Geoff is survived by his five sons, James (Barbara), Paul (Daphne), Neil (Lori), Kevin (Liz), Stephen (Denise); his grandchildren: Nathan, Joshua, Jonathan (Tiffany), Jordan, Jasmine, Kasyndra, Geoffrey/Gaia; and his great-granddaughters: Lily Rose, Alexia, and Maisie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Geoff’s life was changed when he gave his heart to the Lord as a young man. He was a long-standing member of Jubilee Pentecostal Temple in Botwood, and served in many roles over the years, especially within the Men’s Ministries.
Geoff and Maisie lived in Botwood, then in various places in Ontario before their retirement. Even so, Geoff’s heart was always in Botwood. On retiring, they bought and renovated a home on the water, just down the road from where Geoff grew up.
Geoff loved tinkering in his workshop, making things with his hands, and dreaming up new plans. All the while, he kept up on news in the neighbourhood. Geoff loved playing his piano accordion, especially traditional hymns.
The family would like to thank Geoff’s church friends and extended family members for their continuing visits with Geoff over the past few years. He appreciated it more than you will ever know. They would also like to thank his caregivers in Botwood and at the hospital in Grand Falls, for caring so well for Geoff these past few years.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Home, Botwood , where visitation will be held on Monday, September 19 from 7pm to 9pm . A celebration of Geoff’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 20 at 2 pm at Hoskins Funeral Home, Botwood.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Geoff’s memory may be made to Jubilee Pentecostal Temple, Botwood.
“But as for me, how good it is to be near God! I have made the Sovereign Lord my shelter, and I will tell everyone about the wonderful things you do.” Psalms 73:28
The funeral service will be live streamed from Hoskins Funeral Home Botwood, facebook page.
