
Obituary of Maxwell Bartlett Boone
After a lengthy illness, Maxwell, age 83 went to be with his Lord at the Carmelite Home in Grand Falls-Windsor. Max was the fourth child born to William and Ada Boone (White) of Cottrell’s Cove. At an early age Max moved to Quebec where he worked in a sawmill in Davidson. He also worked in Ontario and at a Cabinet Shop in Ottawa area. While there he married his first wife. At about thirty years of age he returned to his hometown in NL with his wife and five children. After moving back home they had three more children.
In NL Max worked in the fishery, cutting and sawing lumber in his own sawmill, did carpentry and utilized his many other skills. Later, he again returned to the mainland and married Diane Gervais. They settled and renovated a home in Cottrell’s Cove in 1996 where they lived enjoying the Newfie life till they moved to a senior’s cottage in Grand Falls-Windsor in 2016 due to declining health. Max used his gift of music to play guitar and accordion and he and Diane ministered in song together at their church.
Maxwell was predeceased by his son, Wayne and his daughters, Wanita and Connie; parents: William and Ada Boone; brothers: Ronald and Raymond; brothers-in-law: Gerald Langdon and Wilbert Pelley; sisters-in-law: Mabel Boone and Sybil Boone. Left to mourn are his wife, Diane: stepdaughter: Angel and her two children Gavin and Chelsea; his children: Lorraine, Diane, Keith (Lori), Tracey, Maxwell Jr. and Janet; the mother of his children; his grandchildren: Patrick, Katrina, Cory, Amanda, Daniel, Sheena, Shyann, Joshua, Lucien, Justin, Grant, Nikki, Nathan and Victoria; step-grandchildren: (Lori's) Thomas, Michelle, Zacchary, Amanda and Victoria. Also mourning are his siblings: Mildred Langdon, Betty Boone, Ruby (Carl) Hillier, Donald (Bride) Boone, Florence Pelley, Margaret (John) Boone, Lloyd Boone, Betty (Watson) Saunders; and his extended relatives and friends.
Max loved and trusted his Lord until his very last breath.
Burial to follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery in Cottrell's Cove.
