Emeline Rideout

Obituary of Emeline Martha Rideout

It is with broken hearts the family of Emeline Martha Rideout announce her passing on Friday, July 29, 2022 at the Central NL Regional Health Care Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor.  Predeceased by her parents Peter and Shirley Lahey, parent-in-law Pearce and Bertha Rideout, special daughter Denise Power.  Leaving to mourn with loving memories her husband of 45 years Freeman, brothers Patrick (Karen) Lahey, Ron Lahey and sister Mary Lahey.  Also leaving to mourn Aunt Julia Morgan, Aunt Theresa Lahey of Bishop's Falls and Uncle Ray Lewis (Ena) of Deer Lake; brothers-in-law Perry (Bev) Rideout, Paul Rideout and Aunt Winnie Burge of Bishop's Falls.  Emeline was a faithful member of the Sacred Heart Church, Bishop's Falls and attended until illness forced her to stay home but she still continued to watch the Daily Mass on TV.    Her and Freeman shared many happy times at their cabin in Fortune Harbour - their little piece of heaven.  She enjoyed cooking, knitting and spending time with her family whom she cherished.  Special thank you to her caregivers Karen Walsh and Theresa Morgan for their kindness and wonderful care.  She will be sorely missed by many.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday 2 - 4 for family and 7 - 9 for the public.  Father Moses will conduct the Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 2 PM from the Sacred Heart Church, Bishop's Falls. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.   Pallbearers are Ron Lahey, Patrick Lahey, Ron O'Reilly, Neil O'Reilly, Leo Morgan and Paddy Morgan.
