Obituary of Nancy Vera Lynn Sheppard

On July 11, 2022, at 1:50am Nancy Vera Lynn Sheppard, a beloved mother, was reunited with family members who passed before her including brother Ronald Gosse, and her mother and father Edna and George Gosse.

Nancy battled an illness for many years, but it never stopped her from continuing to help those around her.  To name a few acts of kindness, as she struggled with her health, she helped organize fund raisers for her hometown Buchan’s Junction, delivered Christmas presents to the entire town, and brought hot meals to friends when they fell ill.  She was truly an angel on earth. Those who were lucky enough to have been touched by her compassionate and generous spirit shall keep her memory alive.

Left to mourn are a large circle of family and friends.  Those family members include husband of forty -five years Randy Sheppard and her two children Kristy and Shannon, four grandchildren Christian (Harmony), George, Kiana and Lexie, three great grandchildren Layton, Maxwell and Sophia, four sisters Juanita, Colleen, Lisa and Tracy, three brothers Shawn (Holly), Pleman, and Gaius.  Memories will also be held dear by many cousins, nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and close friends, one friend in particular, William Lyver.

She passed surrounded by sisters Lisa and Juanita, her niece Cecelia, and her daughter Kristy, while Amazing Grace played in the background.  The end of the song she took her last breath and went to her new heavenly home.

Now, in a place where sickness can touch her no more and she can be with those she missed dearly for years, her laughter floats on the wind.

Friends and family will be invited to celebrate Nancy’s life in the town of Botwood, on her birthday, Aug 27, 2022, when she would have been sixty-five.Those who wish to attend please contact daughter, Kristy Sheppard, via email at or call (709) 572-1659.
