Obituary of Sam Boyd Channon Manuel
It is with a broken heart that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, brother, and friend Sam (Boyd Channon) Manuel on Friday, July 8, 2022 at the age of 66 years.
Sam was a very thoughtful, kind, and laid back person who loved to have a chat with everyone. He had a tremendous love for the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Someone else will now have to occupy his place in Dawson Pond. Sam had many good friends that he held close to his heart and this we are all thankful for. God bless you all.
He was predeceased by his parents Wallace and Audrey Manuel; brother John Manuel; parents-in-law James and Ann Curtis. He leaves to mourn his wife Beverley Manuel (Curtis); brothers Keith (Helen) Manuel, Shawn (Barbara) Manuel, Rick Manuel; sisters Phyllis (Dennis) MacDonald, Karen (Armand deceased) Tetreault, Lynn; in-laws Mary (Hedley) Gill, Patricia (Roy) Rees, Jim (Marlene) Curtis, Deborah (Gaston) Curtis, Helen (Randy) Jewer, many nieces and nephews, other reltives and friends.
Special thank you to Father Moses and Father Joseph who guided and served us during this difficult journey. To Dr. Murner and Dr. Woolfrey for your medical care and all the staff at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Center, you were all amazing and so kind to us.
Finally to our families who gave us so much support and love—thank you! To my sister Pat, who Sam wanted next to me through this, there are no words to express my appreciation. Just remember that if you don’t have family and friends you don’t have much. Thankfully that wasn’t my case. You are loved dearly. Please be assured that your kindness will be remembered. All our love Sam and Bev.
For anyone visiting the Funeral Home, or going to attend the funeral service, it is the family’s request that masks be worn at all times throughout each event. Thank You.
Pallbearers will be his brothers Keith and Shawn Manuel; brothers-in-law Roy Rees, Randy Jewer; nephew Mark Curtis; friend Keith Boone. Honorary pallbearer will be Joe Wells.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lionel Kelland Hospice at Presentation Centre, 3 St. Catherine street Grand falls-Windsor, NL or Botwood Minor Hockey.
The public are invited to attend the visitations at Hoskins Funeral Home, the funeral service at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, as well as our home, and I extend a warm welcome to one and all. God Bless, Bev.
There will be a private family burial at the Roman Catholic Cemtery in Botwood, following the service.
