Obituary of Melvin Guy LeDrew

Passed peacefully away at home on June 30, 2022, Melvin Guy LeDrew. He was 69 years of age. Mr. LeDrew retired from a career as a skilled construction worker and was a member of Liuna Local 1208 Union. Mr. LeDrew is predeceased by his son, baby Joseph LeDrew; parents Rita (Oake) LeDrew and Arthur LeDrew; brothers Harry LeDrew, Lester LeDrew, Hubert LeDrew, and Pleeman LeDrew; sisters Dorothy LeDrew-Boyd, Edith LeDrew-Thompson, Alma LeDrew-Bailey. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Linda LeDrew; son Arthur LeDrew; daughters Camille (Chris) Stone, Amy (Paul) Shave. Also leaving to mourn are grandchildren Brady Benson, Carter and Cameron Stone, Emma and Sophia LeDrew, Easton Shave; sister Lorraine LeDrew-Kenny (Alan); brother Norman LeDrew (Theresa); nieces, nephews, and a circle of other relatives and friends.

Melvin loved hunting, fishing, riding his side by side, hangin’ out in THE SHED with his buddies, visiting his kids, grandchildren and family in Alberta and camping in Rocky Mountain House. He loved to make people laugh with a good joke and loved to laugh with them. Most of all, he loved his family to the fullest and was genuinely kind and loving to everyone who had the opportunity to meet and know him.


Public visitation will take place at Hoskins Funeral Home in Bishop’s Falls on Sunday, July 3, 2022 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and again on Monday, July 4, 2022 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. At the family’s request, masks are required during the visitation. 

The memorial service will take place on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at The Salvation Army Citadel in Bishop`s Falls, with interment to follow at the St. Andrew`s Anglican Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the LeDrew residence after the burial for snacks and refreshments. 


Donations in Mr. LeDrew’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society
