Obituary of John Lawrence Mackey

Passed peacefully away on June 27, 2022 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, John Lawrence Mackey age 89 years.
Predeceased by his parents Mary (Moore) Mackey and John Mackey, sister Claire Tower and brother Paul.

Left to mourn with loving and fond memories are: his loving wife of 56 years, Marie, sisters Mary Fleming, Margret Beckman (Tom), Patricia Prendergast (Jim), brother Leo and a large number of nephews and nieces and their families, as well as many friends and relatives.

John was a longtime retired employee of Canadian National Railway in Grand Falls - Windsor. and a member of the Knights of Columbus.He was an avid card player of many games and loved to impart his knowledge to those with whom he played. His enjoyment of playing golf with many friends was equally evident. He also was eager to spend quality time with family and friends.

The family would like to thanks the staff of Central Health and Hoskins Funeral home for their compassionate care.
