
Obituary of Douglas Eli Stuckless
Douglas Eli Stuckless, Passed away May 1st, 2022 peacefully with his daughter Kim by his side at Dr. Hugh Twomey Centre. He was 84 years of age.
Mr Stuckless retired from the Department of Work Services and Transportation and was a member of the Salvation Army Men’s Fellowship and Point Leamington volunteer fire department. He was a lifetime member.
Douglas started working at a very young age in Glenwood with Lloyd Stuckless until he started working with the Department of Work Services and Transportation until he retired in 1997 after 26 years of service. After retirement he enjoyed many years of camping, fishing, and the great outdoors. Douglas was married to the love of his life Beatrice Rice on March 14, 1961 until she passed in 2015. He was lost without her, until he found his second love Marjorie for the past 5 years. Doug was full of life and anyone who knew him, knew he was full of fun and badness. He loved to entertain his family and friends with his guitar, spoons, and juice harp. Doug loved his kids, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and will be missed by all. His famous last words to anyone and everyone would be may god bless.
Predeceased by parents Marshall and Lily Stuckless(Thompson); wife Beatrice, son Shawn, parents in law Allan and Mable Rice, brothers Alex, Maclocm, Maxwell, Llewellyn and sisters, Gertie and Hazel. Left to mourn are sons: David (Janet) Stuckless, Neil (Lorna) Stuckless, Kevin (Moreen) Stuckless, Edward Stuckless, Dennis (Kim) Stuckless, Terry (Kacey) Stuckless. Daughters Cindy (Darwin) Girling, Kim (Trevis) Canning, Noelle (Rodney) Thompson. Also leaving to mourn sister Winnie Froude and brothers Herbert Stuckless and Lorne Stuckless, 18 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.
Major Weldon Hayward conducted the funeral service at the Salvation Army Point Leamington Wednesday, May 4th, 2022 at 2 pm. Interment was held at Salvation Army Cemetery, Pt. Leamington.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Homes Botwood.
Pallbearers were David Stuckless (Son), Kevin Stuckless (Son), Rodney Thompson (Son in law), Kim Canning (Daughter), Moreen Stuckless (Daughter in law), Noelle Thompson (Daughter).
