Obituary of Philip Henry (Den) Billard
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of P.H' (Den) Billard at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Care Center in Botwood on Sunday , April 24, 2022 at the age of 74. A beloved husband, son, father, brother and grandfather. Den is predeceased by his father (Walter S. Billard) and his in-laws (Doug and Rosie Alcock). Leaving to mourn are his wife of 53 years (Carol) and his two sons, Steve & Mark (Jacqueline), his mother (Margaret) and his sister (Jolene). Den also leaves behind 3 granddaughters and large circle of extended family and friends.
Born in Daniel's Harbor NL in 1947, Den moved with his family to Botwood in 1963, where he met the love of his life, Carol, marrying her there in 1968. Den quickly adjusted to life in Botwood making fast life-long friends and becoming heavily involved in service work organizations thereafter. He was very proud to have started up a new Kinsmen Club in Botwood, becoming it's Charter President in 1974 and it's first life member in 1996. He was also a Mason and a Shriner, going as far as anyone could after being installed as potentate of the Mazol Shriners in 2013. This commencing just after retiring from a long career in the Insurance Industry. Den was a great organizer and loved to get the job done...and what a great job you did Den!
