Obituary of Edith (Joan) Faulkner
Passed peacefully away on April 17, 2022, Edith Joan (Curlew) Faulkner at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls-Windsor. She was 80 years of age. She was predeceased by her parents Mark and Edith Curlew; parents-in-law Charlie and Janie Faulkner; sister Lily Valies; son Terry Peyton; daughter Vera Dalley.
Joan Curlew was born to Mark and Edith Curlew in Northern Arm on December 23, 1941. She was the third born of four daughters. She met Albert John Peyton in 1957 and they were married two years later. Together they had eight children. Joan was a devoted housewife and mother, enjoying all the pleasures of life and raising her children. She was a compassionate loving, caring woman that would light up any room. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Joan knew her for her sense of humor and her ability to make you laugh and put a smile on your face. Later in life (1985), she met and later married Roy Faulkner. They built our beautiful blended family and extended their family by two in their 37 years together. They built a life filled with an abundance of love and happy memories. She passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
She leaves to mourn her husband Roy Faulkner; sons Jerry, Ron (Roxann), Dennis, Brad (Elizabeth); daughters Lisa (Mike), Lori (OJ), Theresa (Rod), Carolyn (Louie); son-in-law Richard; sisters Rowena (Tom), Audrey; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; long time special friend Lona Foss and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Pastors Moral Bess and Edwin White will conduct the funeral service from Jubilee Pentecostal Temple on Wednesday at 2 P.M.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Robby, Brady, Bradley, Brett, Cody Taylor, Andre Whelan, Nathan Cole; granddaughters Kendra Peyton, Danielle and Ericka Taylor, KelliAnn and Nikki Whelan , Terrilynn Curtis. Honorary pallbearers will be her husband Roy Faulkner and her son Dennis Peyton.
Joan will be forever missed but never forgotten.
