Wilmore was born on February 14th, 1938 in Grand Falls. In July of 1957 he married Dorothy Keats and they shared 65 plus years as husband and wife.
Wilmore loved music…it was a huge part of his life. He was a Bandsman, Band Master, Songster Leader, Singing Company Leader and after 72 years in the music ministry with the Salvation Army he retired. His faith in God was very strong and he wore his Salvation Army uniform with pride.
He got his first job at the age of 14 years with the Royal Stores on High Street in Grand Falls in different departments until he found that the hardware department was what he truly enjoyed. He continued to work in the hardware industry for 51 years and received a Gold Hammer in 2001 (50 years’ Service Award). On February 14th, 2003, his 65th birthday, he retired.
Wilmore enjoying going in the woods and cutting his winter firewood, of course there was a boil up. Camping was another activity he looked forward to with family and friends.
He was kind, gentle and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and great grandfather who loved his family unconditionally. We loved him dearly and will miss his laughter, stories, and guidance.
We aren’t saying Good-bye Dad; we are saying we’ll see you again.
Well Done Thy Good And Faithful Servant.
The family would like to thank the staff of CNRHC on the 2nd floor and 3B for their kindness and care towards their father.
