Obituary of Keith Cyril Lane

Passed peacefully away on March 31, 2022, Keith Cyril Lane at St. Claires Mercy Hospital, St. John’s. He was 77 years of age.

Keith Cyril Lane was born on March 24, 1945 to Andrew and Jeanette Lane in Buchans, NL. Together with his family, they moved to Bishop’s Falls in 1949 and then Botwood in 1956.  As a teenager, Keith worked as a cook with his father in the Staffhouse at the CN Rail in Bishop’s Falls.  He married his first wife, Joyce, in Oshawa in 1963.  Keith and Joyce spent several years working on a Norwegian paper carrier ship with Montreal Shipping Company.  Together they had three children: Vicki, Rodger and Cheri.  They raised their family in Botwood and were blessed with ten grandchildren Kyle, Brooklyn, Zachery, Joshua, Andrew, Matteo, Marcus, Jade, Rodney and Rebecca.

Keith married Effie-Jenet in 2011.  They loved the outdoors and spent much of their time fishing, cutting wood and riding ATV.  One of Keith’s greatest passions was his love for music.  He always had a song in his heart to share.  He was happiest when surrounded by family, singing and playing his guitar.  Keith also had a profound love and understanding of the Bible and a strong faith in Jesus.  For the past several years he has been a devoted member of the Pentecostal Church in Normans Cove.  Keith’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and love him.

He will be forever missed.

He was predeceased by his parents Andrew and Jeannette; first wife and mother of his children Joyce; brothers Roy, Harvey, Harold; sisters Ruby, Joan and Louise.  He leaves to mourn his wife Jenny Lane; sons Rodger (Amanda), step-sons Robert (Carol), Matthew (Lorraine) and John (Sharron); daughters Vicki (Bruce), Cheri (Trevor), step-daughter Jane (Ken); sisters Betty, Linda, June, Doris, Myrtle; brothers George, Jim, Doug, Ray, Kevin, John and their spouses; ten grandchildren; a number of step-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends.
