


Obituary of Bruce Albert Loder
Bruce Loder passed away after a short illness on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at CNRHC at the age of 70 years. He was born and raised in Badger, NL where he settled down and raised his own family.
Bruce worked as Heavy Equipment Mechanic with Abitibi until they shut down in 2009. For the next three years he commuted back and forth to Kearl Lake, Alberta until he retired in December 2012.
Bruce was a 25-year member of the Badger Volunteer Fire Brigade and was involved in different community organizations such as the St. John Ambulance Brigade, Army Cadets, and the Badger Bomber hockey league. As a younger man he was an avid water-skier, enjoyed softball, darts, playing hockey, hunting and curling. He also loved riding his motorcycle and sea-doo and in recent years he loved spending winters in Florida where his favourite pastime was golf.
In December 2019, Bruce survived a life-changing brain bleed and was still recovering at the time of his sudden illness. He leaves to mourn Ruth, his wife of 52 years, and his daughters: Barbara (Jody Noel), Valerie (Aaron Slaney), and Angela (Ryan Moss); his seven grandchildren whom he dearly loved and treasured, Bethany and Devon Noel, Rachel, Leah and Lucas Slaney and Abigail and Joelle Moss.
He also leaves behind his brothers Freeman (Ivey); Gerald (Marilyn); Derrick (Diane); sisters-in-law: Joan Loder and Marie Loder; brother-in-law Albert (Audrey) Lush; sisters-in-law: Elizabeth (Truman Robinson); Irene Woodworth (Florence Cross); Sylvia (Jim Saunders); brothers-in-law: Jim Woodworth and Ivan (Donna) Woodworth as well as an extended circle of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Gerald Loder, Jody Noel, Devon Noel, Aaron Slaney, Ryan Moss and Ivan Woodworth. Honorary pallbearers are Freeman Loder and Derrick Loder.
