Obituary of Bessie Penton

It is with great sorrow the family of Bessie Penton (nee Shiner) announce her passing on January 2, 2022 at her home in Bishop's Falls at the age of 84 years.  We will be forever grateful for the quiet mannered, beautiful life that she shared with us, we will hold it deep in our hearts.  Bessie was an avid member of The United Church Choir in Bishop's Falls and although she was a soft spoken woman, her voice could be heard throughout the many church services that she thoroughly enjoyed and rarely missed.  Her other passions were knitting and quilting, both of which she lovingly created for her children, grandchildren and many others in her extended family.  She will be forever loved and missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Bessie was predeceased by her loving husband Leonard Penton, her parents Lucy and Archibald Shiner, brothers Selby and Herbert, sister Elvie and son-in-law Howard Sharron.  Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are sons; Dan (Brenda), Selby, Sean (Jessica), and Darren (Laurie).  Her daughters Linda (Arthur) Earle, Armaline (Les) Noseworthy, Bernadette (Scott) Murphy and Bernice Penton, her precious 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.  Her brothers Bert (Glenda) Shiner, Charlie Shiner, her sisters Bernette (Chester) Young, Delcie (Edward) Whalen and Ada.  Also leaving to mourn her special friend Linda Moores and sister-in-law Elsie Hutchings and a large circle of extended family and friends.  In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to The United Church, Bishop's Falls.  Unfortunatley, due to the current COVID restrictions visitation and funeral service will be private for invited guest only.  Pallbearers are Mark Sharron, Joshua Earle, Sean Penton, Darren Penton, Billy Hutchings and Scott Murphy.

"A limb has fallen from the family tree, that says grieve not for me, for I am in my heavenly home and I am closer than you know."
