Obituary of Winston Ernest Hibbs

It with great sadness and sorrow that we are announcing the passing of Winston Hibbs.

Winston passed away peacefully at the Health Science Centre in St John's, with his loved ones by his side on October 26th, 2021. 

Winston was born in Peterview on February 10th, 1945 to John and Jane Hibbs. 

On May 23rd, 1968, he married the love of his life Louise, together they raised six children, who they loved and cherished unconditionally. His children were his life and greatest accomplishment. 

Winston was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He was adored and loved by all who met him, he had a heart of gold. He often did without himself so others wouldn't. Winston enjoyed spending time with his family. He had a special bond with all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they brought so much joy into his life. Winston and Louise enjoyed going to their cabin, with their precious dog Bell. 

Winston loved and served the Lord for most of his life. He attended the First United Pentecostal Church in Bishop Falls for the past 31 years. The congregation became his second family, a family whom he cherished. 

Winston is predeceased by his parents, John and Jane Hibbs; brother's Johnny, Junior, Lesley and Percy. His mother and father-in-law, Arthur and Mary Peckford, sisters-in-law, Margaret and Gladys, brothers-in-law, Jim, Tom, Harrison, Wayne, and very special nephew Wayne Fudge. 

Leaving to mourn is his wife Louise, his children Melinda (Alonzo) ,Tammy (Jeff), Pauline (Jerry) , Jamie (Cheryl), Patricia (Lawrence) and Jonathan (Faye); 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. 

Also leaving to mourn are his sisters, Betty (Roland), Onie (William), Jane (Norman), Frances (Lloyd), Margret (Rex) and Geraldine (Roy). 

In Laws, Calvin (Trixi), Harvey (Linda), Wilbert (Gladys), Leo, Christine (Ed), Elsie, Dorothy (Andrew), Patsy (Dave) and Florence (Tony). 

Winston's presence will surely be missed by everyone. He left an everlasting impression on those who knew him.
