Obituary of Donald Gerald Atwood

It is with great sadness that the family of Donald Atwood announce his passing at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls-Windsor on September 12, 2021.

He was predeceased by his parents, James and Sarah, sister Juanita, and sister-in-law Marilyn.

Don leaves to mourn his loving wife of 28 years, Tracy; daughter Brittany (Matthew); son Jacob (Lacey); parents in law Roy and Beryl; brothers: Frank (Minnie), Leo (Joyce), Raymond, William, Ronald (Mick), James (Kathleen), Nelson (Stefanie); sisters: Madeline (Rose), Louise (Luanne), Caroline, Joan (Brian), Dale (Donald); brothers in law: Roy Keating, David (Sherri-Lynn), Murray (Kristen). Also left to mourn are his dear friends, Mark and Karen, beloved dogs Charlie and Callie, and a large circle of extended family and friends.

Don was a hard worker who thoroughly enjoyed his work as a carpenter. Although he could do almost anything he set his mind to, he had a strong passion for building houses and being outdoors. Don was a generous man who loved his family more than anything and continuously put their needs ahead of his own. His family will be sure to speak of him often and cherish his memory forever.

A funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel RC Parish on Saturday, September 18 at 11:00 a.m. Seating is limited – if you would like to attend the service, please leave a message at 653-2250 or email

Interment will be held at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery following the service.
