It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved wife and mother. Michelle Lemae Rye-Gardner passed peacefully away at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center on August 1, 2021, in her 58th year. Michelle was born on January 7, 1963 in Toronto ON. Michelle was predeceased by her father Albert Rye, daughter C.C. Gardner, grandmother Eva Rye, and special aunt Wendy Valliancourt . Michelle will be deeply missed by her husband Ian, son Joshua, as well as extended family in Ontario and a large circle of friends.
Michelle was a go-getter; she was afraid of nothing; always a positive person. In her early career she worked for the Toronto Transit Commission driving buses through the busy streets of Toronto. After moving to Newfoundland with Ian and Joshua, she worked at DSI/Stagg Sign’s.
She will be forever remembered as an avid volunteer and supporter of the Special Olympics both in Central and the rest of Newfoundland. She even traveled to Thunder Bay in 2020 to watch and support the Exploits Hurricane Curling Team win their Gold Medal. We will miss your sweet smile, and infectious laugh. Ever loved, ever rememebered.
Public visitation will take place on Thursday, August 5th, 2021 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Hoskins Funeral Home in Grand Falls-Windsor.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Exploits Hurricanes. e-Transfer are accepted to them.
