Obituary of Roger Henry Martin

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our loving father Roger Martin.  Roger passed away peacefully with his beloved daughter Hillary and his brother the Reverend Roy Martin at his side at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center, July 20, 2021.

Roger will be deeply missed by his daughters Hillary, Andrea (Derrick) Karen (John), and son Chris (Elizabeth).  He will never be forgotten by his granddaughters;  Nicole, Megan, Kendra and great granddaughter Gwendolyn. 

Roger was born In Windsor, N.L on Feb 16, 1947.  He loved fishing, hunting and being outdoors.  Some of his most fond memories were made with his family and friends at his beloved hunting cabin.  Roger was predeceased by his parents Mona and James Martin, brothers; William, James, Eric and Don. Survived by sisters; Elizabeth, Peggy, Norma and brothers Cliff and the Reverend Roy Martin. 

He was someone who loved to be around people which led him to a successful career in sales. He will be dearly missed by his many friends and co-workers at Thruway Recreation.

He was his family’s biggest encouragement and always wanted what was best for everyone.  He raised his children with love and care and instilled confidence in them.  His smile and gentle ease will be missed forever. 

Visitation will take place on Friday July 23rd at Hoskins funeral home from 12:00-5:00 with COVID restrictions in place.

The Funeral Service will be held at St. Albans Anglican Church on Saturday July 24th at 2:00 pm, invitation only, an internment to follow at St. Alban’s Cemetery. 

Flowers are accepted or donations can be made to the Corduroy Brook Enhancement Association.
