Passed peacefully away on June 15, 2021 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Cecil Paddock at the age of 94 years. Cecil was born in Pilley's Island, and at an early age he moved to Windsor where his father established a general store. His grandfather and later his father were the keepers of the Little Bay Islands Lighthouse.
Mr. Paddock was a member of Windsor Pentecostal Church for 70 years. He was in business with his father at E. Paddock and Sons for 42 years, as a butcher. Upon the sale of the family business, he worked at other businesses including the Economy Store and IGA.
He is predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Lillian Paddock; all of his siblings, his eldest daughter, Patricia; and his wife, Lizzie. He leaves to mourn his sons, Allan (Pat), John, and Jim (Sherry); daughters, Carol (Robert) Tudrick, and Gloria (Max) Crews; and son-in-law, Harry Wheeler. Also left to mourn his grandchildren, Duane Paddock (Donna), Shawn Wheeler (Melanie), Cora Lee Paddock, Timothy Crews (Amanda), Dana Crews; five great-grandchildren, Brett Wheeler, Sarah Wheeler, Zachary Wheeler, Alkeos Chamchoumis-Paddock, and Nathan Drodge; as well as a circle of other relatives and friends.
Visitation for the late Cecil Paddock with take place on Thursday, June 17 from 4-7pm at Hoskins Funeral Homes in Grand Falls-Windsor. Please call 1-709-489-5100 to book an appointment time for the visitation. Pastor Derick Sharron will conduct the funeral service from Windsor Pentecostal Church on Friday, June 18th at 11am. Due to COVID-19 regulations, the funeral service will be by invitation only. For those that are unable to attend, the service will be live-streamed via WPC. Interment will follow the service at Windsor Pentecostal Cemetery. Pallbearers are Allan Paddock, Robert Tudrick, John Paddock, Maxwell Crews, Jim Paddock and Frank Keats. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Home in Grand Falls-Windsor.
