Obituary of Maxwell Wesley Rees
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Maxwell Rees announce his passing at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Center, Botwood, on Saturday, April 24, 2021. He was 73 years young.
Max was a hardworking man who worked with Abitibi Price for 42 years. He loved spending time at his cabin fishing and hunting with his cabin buddies. He adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. He was always there to lend a hand or to help someone in need.
Maxwell was predeceased by his parents Gordon and Ina Rees; brothers Gerald and Gordon. Left with precious memories are his wife Shirley; daughter Shelley (Roy); son Stephen (Alyssa); grandchildren Jacob, Jamie (Jordan), Maddison; step-grandchildren Joshua and Justina; sisters Elizabeth, Anne (Bruce); brothers Allan (Sharon), Brian (Barbara), Eric; sisters-in-law Joan (Tony), Judy (Larry), Vera (Ron); special Aunt Marg and Uncle Ford, Aunt Elizabeth in Scotland; many nieces, nephews and a large circle of relatives and friends.
The family of Maxwell Rees would like to thank Dr. Jody Woolfrey and Valerie Noseworthy for their support and kindness in Dad’s care over the years. The Community Health Nurse, Lori Kenny for your care and support during this difficult time. His Oncologist Dr. Kamran and Dr. Rorke. All the Doctors and nurses at the Cancer clinic in GFW that showed kindness and loving care. Thank you to everyone who called and checked in on our family over the last few weeks. A special thank you to his granddaughter Jamie for all your support and care for your Pop over the past several months.
As was his wish and due to Covid 19 restrictions, a private family gathering will take place.
