Edna....so sorry to hear of Baxter's passing. Remembering him from our High School years and last saw him at our school reunion....always fun to be around. Sincere condolences to you and your family. Myrtle(Staple)Flynn
So sorry to hear of Baxter's passing he was a wonderful man. I had the pleasure of knowing him when I was a cadet with the Botwood core and he was an officer and then to stand by his side as I myself became an officer he taught me so much, he was a very knowledgeable man. He will surely be missed by his family and all his friends.
Edna and Family - I write to express to you and your family the sincere condolences of the Patricia’s on the passing of Baxter Butler, Jnr. I cannot say I met Baxter, as he was just four years older than I and our service did not overlap. But he had a great family - an active life after being in the army and we hope many great years after retirement.
The Regiment remembers Baxter's service, and you and your family I am sure are proud of that service. His name will be read in this year’s list of the lost when we read that out on November 11th, 2021 in the Sacred Space in Beechwood, the National Military Cemetery, Ottawa. His name will also be listed in the 2021 edition of the Patrician’s Last Post section.
Should any of Baxter's family want to maintain a connection with the Regiment, a gratis three year Memorial Membership in the PPCLI Association is available. Contact Mr Herb Kenny, the Membership Chairman, at firstname.lastname@example.org, for details.
Thank you all.
Brigadier-General Vince Kennedy (Retired)
Colonel of the Regiment
Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry
