Passed peacefully away with her family by her side after the most memorable Christmas, on Monday, January 11, 2020, Nita Corbin, age 60 years.
Predeceased by her parents, Shirley Maud (Stroud) and Edward Mardon “Marty” Cave; brother Terrance Neil Cave, grandparents, Elizabeth Frances and Appleton Cleaves Stroud, and John Henry and Lillian Gertrude Cave.
Leaving behind to cherish her memory and continue her legacy, her loving husband of 40 years, Mike Corbin; her daughter and best friend, Sherrie Corbin (son-in-law, Paul Power); “mom’s boy” son, Michael Corbin (daughter-in-law, Erin Lane); 3 precious grandchildren - the apples of her eye: Cara Power, Connor Power and Elliott Corbin; and special parents-in-law: Michael “Micky” and Rose Corbin.
Nita also leaves behind her sister and best friend, Darelene “Doll” Burden (Melvin); sister, Cynthia Tremblett (Mack); brothers: Carson Stroud (Dee), Mart Cave (Brenda), Dave Cave, and Nat Cave; sisters-in-law: Kathleen Bartlett (Maurice) and Elizabeth Corbin; brothers-in-law: Tom Corbin (Tina Hutchings) and John Corbin (Carolyn Champion); as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends - including special nephew, who was more like a son, Robert Paul (Heather), and long-time, special friend Doreen Power.
Kind and generous, small but mighty, Nita was a fighter until the very end. She gave her all in everything she did and loved her family immensely. A deep void will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Special heartfelt thank you to Mart and Brenda Cave for their care and presence during Nita’s illness, Dr. Sarah Clancy, and to the staff of Central Newfoundland Regional Heath Centre and the team at Carmelite House, we thank you for the help, guidance, professionalism and compassion shown to our family. We will be forever grateful.
Rev. Jeff Blackwood will conduct the Funeral service from St. Alban's Anglican Church on Wednesday, January 13th, at 3pm. COVID-19 restrictions apply. For those who wish to attend virtually, the service will be live-streamed from The Anglican Parish of Windsor-Bishop's Falls Facebook page.
