Obituary of Ruby Louise Woolridge

Ruby Woolridge was a loving wife to her late husband Bob and an affectionate mother to her two children, Kathy and Jill. Ruby also had a precious bond with her only grandchild, Jana-Lynn, who was very dear to her heart. As well her dear friend, Marilyn Glavine, was a constant in Ruby’s life and they shared a special friendship for nearly 55 years.

Ruby spent many years caring for others during her LPN career and then spent her last few years while residing at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Care Centre receiving everyday care from some of her dear friends who used to work alongside her, as well as from some newly made friends who she called by name. Ruby always loved to have company and that did not change even while residing at the Centre since she was known for saying “don’t go, please stay for another little while”.

Ruby passed away on January 10, 2021 at the Dr Hugh Twomey Health Care Centre at the age of 72 years. She is predeceased by her husband Bob; parents, Gilbert and Rita Young; parents-in-law, Henry and Bessie Woolridge, her sister Josephine Jennings and step brother Gilbert Burt. She leaves to mourn Kathy (Dean) Winsor, Jill (Glenn) Rice, and her granddaughter Jana-Lynn (Matthew Mugford) Winsor. Also leaving to mourn are her sisters (Gladys, Jean, and Verna), her brothers (Chesley and David) along with her sister- and brother-in-laws and a large family of nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

Her loving hugs and kisses, her wit and kindness will be dearly missed by family and friends. She will hold a special place in the hearts of many who were near and dear.

Donations in Ruby’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Special thanks to the staff of the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Center in Botwood, for the dedication and care given to our mother over the last number of years.

Folowing Covid 19 Restrictions the visitation and service will remain private and by inviation only. Thank you.
