Gerald Brown passed away on January 7, 2021 at The Carmelite House, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL at the age of 89. He is predeceased by his wife Mae(Quigley), Raymond & Stacey Brown (parents), Sarah & Robert Legg (sister & brother-in-law). Gerald leaves to mourn a special Nephew William Sullivan and a large number of other nieces, nephews and extended family members. As a young man, Gerald started off as a school teacher and then was a co-owner and operated a couple of businesses in Windsor before a lengthy career with Canadian National Railway until his retirement. He was a member of The Windsor Volunteer Fire Department and for 21 years (1970-1991) he was The Fire Chief.
No flowers by request. Donations in Gerald's memory can be made to the Parkinsons Society.
Special thanks to staff at Twin Town Retirement Home, Transition Ward at the Central Health Center and The Carmelite House, as well as everyone who came to visit Gerald during his stay.
Following COVID regulations visitation will take place Sunday from 2 - 4. Rev. Jeff Blackwood will conduct a graveside service on Monday at 11:00 AM from St. Alban's Anglican Cemetery, Caribou Rd., Grand Falls-Windsor. Pallbearers are Asst. Chief Dave Byrne, Capt. Mike Mackey, Capt. Darryl Bartlett, Firefighters Shawn Blake, Ryan Stacey and Nathan Sullivan.
