Passed peacefully away on Friday, December 11th, 2020, William Raymond Selby Sheppard at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor. William Raymond Selby Sheppard, known to friends as “Ray”, was born on Saturday, May 1st, 1948 to his loving parents Graham and Julia Ann Sheppard in Peter’s Arm, Newfoundland. Later in life, he met the love of his life, Rosie Sheppard while selling apples to her at school. They officiated their love for each other and joined hands in marriage on August 22nd, 1968. He became a hardworking father to four beautiful children. They were blessed with two sons, Dion and Todd, and two daughters Tina and Amanda. He worked for Abitibi Consolidated for numerous years. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and now most importantly, he lays in peace as an angel looking over those he cherished, reunited in heaven with his loving wife. He was predeceased by his parents Graham and Julia Ann Sheppard; loving wife Rosie Sheppard; granddaughter Kyla Sheppard; daughter-in-law Emily Sheppard, and parents-in-law Mark and Ivy Fudge. He leaves to mourn sons: Dion (Ewa), Todd (Serina); daughters: Tina (Shawn), Amanda (Steve); sisters: Beulah (William), Pauline (Walter), Loretta (Gerard), Glenda (Craig) and Tammy (Gary); brothers: Sidney (Ruth), Joseph, Dave (Mary), Wallace (Ruby), Llewellyn (Marlene), Glen (Sadie), Ross (Pauline), Andrew (Mary) and Shawn (Lillian); grandchildren Nikita, Brooke, Cameron, Sheranda, Cierra; great-grandchildren: Lucie, Carson, Linkin; stepchildren: Felicia, Stephen, Victoria and a circle of extended relatives and dear friends.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Home, Botwood.
Pallbearers will be Sidney and Wallace Sheppard, Tammy Keats, Beulah Taylor, Glenda Edison and Laura Lynn Taylor.
Lieut. Daniel Kelly will conduct the funeral service at the Salvation Army Citadel, Peterview with interment at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Peterview.
