Obituary of Ruth Patricia Brett

Passed peacefully away on September 9, 2020, Ruth Patricia Brett, at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Center in Botwood.  She was 73 years of age.  Mrs. Brett retired from her work as an alternate care giver for Emily and Shirley.

Ruth will be remembered for her loving and giving ways.  She cherished her children and grandchildren very much and they have many fond memories of her. Taking trips to Disney World together, catching caplin in Leading Tickles and trips to Alberta just to name a few.  She was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone and to anything that was asked of her.   Ruth enjoyed being a member/President of the Anglican Church Women for a number of years and planned many events until her illness prevented her from carrying on.  Her friends were many and she made everyone welcome and comfortable in her home.  She went above and beyond in everything she did and was second to none.

She was predeceased by her parents George and Ella Jerrett; parents-in-law Edgar and Mable Brett; sister and brother-in-law Evelyn and Donald Murley and sister Joan Warman.  She leaves to mourn her husband Donald Brett; son Gregory Brett; daughters Karen (Jason) Jones, Allison (Darrell) Rice; sisters Carolyn (Kevin) Lane; grandchildren Jessica, Katelynn, Lauren, Jillian, Matthew and Dylan and a circle of other relatives and friends.  Reverend Cindy Graham will conduct the funeral service from the St. James Anglican Church, Botwood, on Friday, September 11, 2020.  Interment to follow at the Botwood Community Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Darrell Rice, Jason Jones, Bradley Rowe, Clifford Wells, Allan Gill, David Murley.  Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Brett, Matthew Jones.

A special thank you to Dr. Dean, Lori Anne Peckford, staff at the DHTHC, CNRHC and the Dialysis Unit for her excellent care over the years.

She will be dearly missed by all.

Donations in Ruth's memory may be made to the CNRHC Dialysis Unit.
