Obituary of Peggy Irene Tarrant
Passed away on August 31, 2020, after a lengthy illness, Peggy Irene Tarrant at the Health Science Center, St. John’s. She was 67 years of age.
Peggy was born in Peterview, NL to Douglas and Gertrude Tarrant. She met, fell in love with, her love Herman Budgell and married in 1969. They had a family of three daughters and one son. They both worked all their lives. Ms. Tarrant retired from Clear Water Welding, Fort McMurray, Alberta in 2011 and then moved to Nova Scotia for a brief time, until she moved back home to stay and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Peggy was an active and outgoing person. She was an active member of the Botwood Lions Club for many years, and also a member of the Local Union 92. She loved playing darts, enjoyed doing her garden for every holiday, travelling, going in boat, fishing and loved listening to gospel music.
She was predeceased by her parents Douglas and Gertrude Tarrant; brothers Peter Reid, Freeman Tarrant, Randy Tarrant; sisters Mildred (Joseph) Hancock, Goldie (Randell) Barnes, Jessie Gibson; brothers-in-law David Blake, Winston Stuckless, Harvey Stuckless; Herman Budgell (the father of Peggy’s four children).
She leaves to mourn her son Wayne Budgell; daughters Dena (Spencer) Osmond, Corena (Clifford) March, Angela Budgell; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters Florence (Vince) Walsh, Eileen (Donald Stuckless), Maxine Stride (Derrick Luff), Ina Blake; brothers Clayton (Juanita) Tarrant; sisters-in-law Nina Budgell, Judy Tarrant, Stella Reid and a circle of other relatives and friends.
She will be dearly missed by us all.
At the family’s request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Botwood Salvation Army Citadel on Monday at 2 P.M.
