Rowsell, Ruby (Ward) – Passed peacefully away with her husband and family by her side at the Health Science Centre, St. John’s on June 28, 2019 at the age of 78 years. Predeceased by her parents Henry and Elsie Ward; biological mother, Marie Gill; two children Dianne and Nicholas. Leaving to mourn and celebrate her life are her husband, Cyril Rowsell; daughters: Delilah (Winston) Loveman, Mavis (Wayne) Martin, Belinda (Blair) Fleming, Paula (Dean) Earle; sons: Felix (Denise) Rowsell, Everett (Cavell) Rowsell; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also her sister, Sue Osatachuk, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Ruby grew up in Leading Tickles and lived there her entire life. She married and became a devoted wife and mother.
She was a dedicated member of the Anglican Church, member of the ACW, the church choir; she made weekly visits to the seniors’ manor and friends who were ill. Also an Active member of the Ladies Auxiliary and 50 Plus club.
Ruby enjoyed travelling, a game of cards, loved to socialize with family and friends and always up for an excursion.
Her favorite pastime was sewing, special dresses for special occasions, pants that needed hemming, special quilts that still keep us warm.
She loved taking pictures on every occasion, every event, archives of Leading Tickles in photo albums line her shelves.
Rev. Cindy Graham will conduct the funeral service at St. Nicholas Anglican Church, on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at 11 a.m. with interment at the Anglican Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Felix Rowsell, Everett Rowsell, Christopher Martin, Ryan Loveman, Jake Earle and Robert Fleming. Honorary pallbearer will be Aylwin Martin.
Special thanks to Dr.’s Power and Croake who helped her through her journey with cancer. Also caregivers in her own home. The neurology doctors and nurses who provided excellent care with such compassion at the Health Science Centre till her final rest.
In lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
