Obituary of Guscila Vivian Peach
Passed peacefully away on May 4, 2019, Guscila Vivian Peach (Jewer) at the Twomey Center in Botwood, in the presence of her family. She was 91 years of age.
As a younger woman, she was a member of the Girl Guides, CGIT and the United Church Women (UCW).
She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Peach; daughter-in-law, Sheila Peach, her parents and thirteen siblings.
She leaves to mourn her sons: Albert, Donald (Mary) (Butt) Peach; daughter, Debra (Barry) Butt.
Also left to mourn are her six grandchildren: Raelene Keough, Travis Butt, Andrew Peach, Michael Peach, Jeffrey Peach and Brian Peach; eight great-grandchildren: Gavin Day, Kamryn Keough, Owen Keough Kate Peach, Callie Peach, Aidan Peach, Nora Butt and Sophie Butt; sisters-in-law, Pearl Jewer and Verlie Winter.
Pastor James Martin-Carter will conduct the funeral service at Trinity United Church, Botwood on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 11 a.m. with interment at the United Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Andrew Peach, Travis Butt, Jeffrey Peach, Brian Peach, Bert Peach, Don Peach and Barry Butt.
Guscila had a long and happy life. She was born in Botwood where she lived most of her life and lived for a time in Gander, Green’s Harbour, Kilbride and Mount Pearl.
She and her spouse of 67 years, Raymond, spent many happy times together pursuing common interests such as camping, hunting, fishing and vacationing around Newfoundland and Labrador and travelling abroad.
Gussie was an excellent craftsperson and knitted for NONIA, was involved in dress making, embroidery and artwork, even into her nineties.
She had a passion for playing cards and spending time with her family and friends, particularly her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
