Obituary of Hazel Minnie Pelley

Passed peacefully away on April 9, 2019, Hazel Minnie Pelley at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Center, Botwood.  She was 89 years of age. 

Hazel was born in Pt. Leamington to Marshall and Lillian Stuckless on November 6, 1929.  She was one of eleven children.  On November 5, 1953 she married Alex Stanley Pelley of Northern Arm where she resided for 66 years.  Together they had seven children, five girls and two boys.  She also raised her granddaughter Melinda.  Hazel enjoyed knitting, gardening, sewing and she cherished spending time with family and friends.  Each grandchild held a special place in her heart.  She loved to tease them and always gave them great advice whenever she felt they needed it.

She was predeceased by her parents Marshall and Lillian Stuckless; husband Stanley Pelley; brothers Alex, Malcolm, Maxwell, Llewellyn; step-brother Wallace; granddaughter Melinda.  She leaves to mourn her sons David (Wendy), Jerry (Andree); daughters Daphne (Richard), Sheila, Goldie (Stephen), Verlie (Curtis), Barbara (Hubert); sisters Gertrude Cooper, Winnie Froude; brothers Douglas, Herbert, and Lorne Stuckless;  grandchildren Jeanette, Sheldon, Cory, Melissa, Kellen, Michael, Ryan, Keshia, Kodey, Skylar, Kai; nine great-grandchildren Brandan, Alyssa, Kyanna, Evan, Harley, Jamie, Kevin, Kortney, Keenan; sisters-in-law Daisy Gosse, Anetta Pelley, Jane Pelley, Gloria Stuckless, Shirley Stuckless, Beverley Stuckless; brother-in-law Wilfred Pelley and a circle of other relatives and friends.  Lieutenant Barry Austin will conduct the funeral service from the Salvation Army Citadel, Pt. Leamington on Saturday, April 13, at 2 P.M. Interment to follow at the United cemetery, Northern Arm.  Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Home, Botwood.  Pallbearers will be grandsons Kodey Hewlett, Skylar Farthing, Sheldon Alexander, nieces Lisa Stuckless, Carrie Stuckless, son-in-law Stephen Stagg.  Honorary pallbearer will be her great-grandson Brandan Pelley.
