Obituary of Daisy Collins

Daisy Collins passed peacefully away on February 23, 2019 at the Twomey Center in Botwood at the age of 86 years.

She was predeceased by her husband, John Collins; mother, Katherine Anthony; brothers: Albert (Siggy) Strickland, Joe Strickland and sister, Marie Beson.

She leaves to mourn her daughter Linda Locke, her grandsons Travis (Kim) Boone, Gregory (Amber) Boone; great-grandchildren Izzy Boone and Lucas Boone. Also left are the Antle family: Ivan (Sandra), Clar (Marilyn), Jean, Eileen, Julia (Tony), Barbara (Mike), Betty Mae (Norm), Roy (Patsy), Diane, Gerald (Marilyn), George (Janet), Bruce, Carolann and a circle of other relatives and friends.

Daisy loved her family and friends, but most of all she loved her Lord and loved attending church. She was involved in different departments just to mention a few: Women’s Ministries, Home League, Crusaders and VBS. She was a loving, caring, kind-hearted and generous person, going out of her way to help others. She was a model of God’s forgiveness. Daisy loved playing her tambourine and knitting (having to ravel or cutting up her wool). Later in years she attended school and learned to print her name which was a cherished accomplishment. Also one of the greatest inspiration in her life was her beloved husband John and the years they spent together.

Pastor Greg Patey will conduct the funeral service at Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 with interment at the Pentecostal Cemetery. Funeral arrangements  entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Home, Bishop’s Falls.

Pallbearers are Roy Antle, Gerald Antle, Bill Antle, Henry Collins, Ralph Joy and Alex Prowse. Honorary pallbearer is Gregory Boone (grandson).
