Obituary of Colin Seabright

Passed peacefully away on December 5, 2018, Colin Christopher Seabright, at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Center, Botwood.  He was 87 years of age.

Colin Christopher Seabright was born on July 3, 1931 to Albert and Elsie Seabright of Peterview.  From a very young age he started working at his family’s saw mill and went on to drive taxi with Blue Bird and Bursey. He married Eileen Vineham of Botwood in December of 1966 and together they had three children Bruce, Darren and Roma.  After the death of his wife, Colin continued to raise his teenage children of 16, 15 and 13 years of age with the help of many family and friends.  His first grandchild Jordan was born when he was 65, followed by three beautiful girls Danielle, Stephanie, Breanne and then onto the youngest, Braedan.  Two years ago he was thrilled to add two more beautiful girls, Chelsea and Ciarra to his circle of grandchildren.  His only great-grandson, Kaleb, was born five years ago which brightened his life even more.

Colin lived a great Christian life.  He instilled in his children Godly values.  He loved to sing and play his guitar and harmonica. Colin enjoyed making snow shoes, loved rabbit catching and a boil up in the woods.

He married Edna Clarke in 1990 and they resided in Cottrell’s Cove. He was welcomed by her 12 children and their families who thought very fondly of him. He was very active in the Church in Cottrell’s Cove as a Board member, usher, and was faithful in playing his guitar in the services.

He resided at the PCR Building in Lewisporte and then at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Center where he will be sadly missed by all staff who admired his gentle demeanor.  Colin set a great example for his family and will be sadly missed and forever remembered with lots of love.

He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Elsie Seabright, his first wife Eileen Seabright (Vineham); sisters Jesse Roberts, Ruby Hibbs; brother Elias Seabright.  He leaves to mourn his wife Edna Seabright; sons Bruce (Rosalind) Seabright, Darren (Tracy) Seabright; daughter Roma (Larry) Ernst; sisters Phyllis (Cliff) Roswell, June (Sydney) Hurley; brothers Wilbert (Clara)  and Eric (Pansy) Seabright; grandchildren Jordan, Chelsea, Danielle, Stephanie, Breanne, Ciara, Braden; great-grandson Kaleb, also a large number of step-children and step-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.  Pastors Moral Bess and Edwin White will conduct the funeral service from the Jubilee Pentecostal Temple, Botwood on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 11 A.M.  Interment to follow at the Pentecostal cemetery, Botwood.  Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Home, Botwood.  Pallbearers will be sons Bruce and Darren Seabright, brother Eric Seabright, son-in-law Larry Ernst, grandson Jordan Seabright, step-son Clayton Clarke. Honorary pallbearer will be his daughter Roma Ernst.
