Obituary of Catherine Snow

Cathy entered this world a miracle. She lived her life exuding love, courage, strength, humour and determination, despite having a life of long illness.

Cathy often said, “I am an independent Mi’kmaq woman” and “Donovan, you are my everything”. Cathy loved her only son, Donovan, more that anything and this love carried her through difficult times.

All of us who had the privilege of knowing and loving Cathy will be forever grateful for the presence she had in our lives and for the example of strength that she consistently demonstrated. She was our ROCK.

She was a shining star; the darker the night, the brighter she shined. If we could reach up and hold that star every time she made us smile, we would all hold the night sky in the palm of our hand.

Soar now, you are home. We all love and miss you and you will forever be in our hearts.

Cathy passed away at the Health Science Centre, surrounded by her family, on November 2, 2018 after a lengthy illness with a liver disease, at the age of 43 years. She worked with Central Health, Grand Falls-Windsor and was a member of Qalipu Mi’kmaq First Nation.

She was predeceased by her nan Catherine Pigeon (Parsley).

She leaves to mourn her husband Daron and son Donovan Snow. She also leaves her mother, Madonna Smith (Pigeon); sister, Laura (Ryan) Hunt and mother-in-law Elizabeth Keefe and a circle of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are Donovan Snow, Laura Hunt, Genevieve Brake, Kirk Snow, Tanya Abbott and Tracy Gibson.

Public visitation to take place on Monday, 2-4 and 7-9, with Funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Parish on Tuesday, 11 a.m.
