Obituary of Willard Finnamore

Passed peacefully away, November 1, 2018 Willard Henry Finnamore, at his residence in Bishop's Falls, at the age of 91 years. He retired from Western Construction in 1991 after 25 years of service. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry Finnamore and Susan Bowmaster; son Clyde Finnamore; daughter, Carlene Finnamore; sisters: Eva, Lucille; brothers: John, Chester, Douglas and Everett. 

He leaves to mourn his wife Elizabeth (Betty) Finnamore (Lane); sons: Clayton (Carol) Finnamore and Sterling (Gale) Saunders; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He also leaves his sisters: Grace, Kathleen; step-sisters: Jessie and Freda; brothers: Raymond, Martin, Robert, Gene and Jerry and a circle of other relatives anf friends. 

Rev. Stephanie McClellan will conducted the funeral service on Monday at 2 p.m. at the United Church, Bishop's Falls with interment to follow at the United Church cemetery.

Visitation will take place on Sunday from 2-5 p.m.

Willard was known for his masterful ability as a storyteller. His sense of humour was appreciated by everyone who knew him. After his retirement he spent many hours in his workshop fixing things for friends and neighbours. He was a skilled carpenter and made unique furniture as a hobby - everything from intricate wooden bowls to coffee tables. He loved to read westerns and books about geography. He was an intelligent, kind, gentle man with an infectious smile and a giving heart. He was loved by everyone who knew him, and he will be missed by many.
