Obituary of Doreen Nicholas

Passed peacefully away on May 18, 2018 at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls-Windsor, Clara Doreen Nicholas at the age of 67 years. Doreen retired from Central Health after a long career as an LPN. She is predeceased by her husband, Harold (Junior); her parents, Arthur and Gladys O'Rourke; her special parents, Mary Belle and Lloyd Fudge; beloved uncle, Cecil Fudge. She leaves to mourn daughter, Marsha (Francois) Nicholas; her step-sons, Terry (Valerie) Nicholas, Jerry (Lalena) Nicholas, and Jody Nicholas. Also left to mourn brother, Fred (Evelyn) O'Rourke; sister, Debbie (Donnie) Gillis; special aunt, Fannie Fudge; special sisters, Daphne, Judy, Mary, Goldie and Pauline; four grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, special friends, Hazel and Joan; nieces, nephews and a circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Darryl Drover will conduct the Memorial Service on Monday, May 21, 2018 at 11am from Windsor Pentecostal Church in Grand Falls-Windsor. Interment will follow at Windsor Pentecostal Cemetery on Caribou Road. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Home in Grand Falls-Windsor. 

Doreen Nicholas was born on August 31st, 1950 to Art and Gladys O'Rourke of Sydney, Nova Scotia. She was born into a family of three; one brother and one sister. She graduated from Central Health School of Nursing, and worked for many years as an LPN until her retirement. Doreen married Harold (Junior) Nicholas and together they had one daughter, Marsha. Doreen loved and raised her three step-sons, Terry, Jerry and Jody. Doreen had a positive attitude, sense of humor, and the ability to get along with everyone, and treated everyone with respect. She will be missed but never forgotten by all who knew her.
