Wayne was born on March 16, 1955. He was the son of the late Frederick and Dorothy Curtis. Wayne grew up in Botwood, and from a very early age showed an interest and an aptitude to repair and or modify all things mechanical, without much formal training. Except the training he received from his Dad, Wayne became well known as a skilled welder, mechanic, truck driver, and heavy equipment operator. He worked with his Dad in the woods for many years. Wayne worked for various companies, doing everything from driving the Ice roads to repairing and operating equipment for highway construction and paving.

Wayne’s family was his priority and he always worked hard to support them.Another love for him was motorcycles, especially BSA’s and all other types of British bikes. Wayne was one of the founding members of Creed motorcycle Club and wore his colors proudly. For years he supervised the preparation and the cooking of the pig for the annual pig roast to the delight of all who attended. When his daughter Meghan was still very young and his son Patrick was on the way, he acquired a VW trike now allowing his whole family to share the ride. Wayne also had great story telling skills and could take an often repeated joke or story and turn it in to gales of laughter from young and old listeners.

No flowers by request. Donations in his name can be made to the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Care Centre, Palliative Care Unit.

      Forever in our hearts.
