Passed peacefully away on June 26, 2022, Vera Mable Short-Langdon at the Central NL Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor at the age of 93 years. Vera (nickname Short) retired from Mount Peyton Hotel and was a member of The Salvation Army Home League and other areas of the church. She was predeceased by her parents Pergolis and Priscilla Noseworthy, 1st husband Hughie Short, 2nd husband Harvey Langdon, infant son Roy, daughter Edna; son-in-law Jim Wall; sister Violet (husband Leo Cook; brother Gordon (wife Jean). She leaves to mourn her sons Roy (Margaret) Short and Roger Short; sisters Myrtle (Henry deceased) Rowsell, Lillian (Leonard deceased) Verge; brothers: Ford (Bernice deceased) Noseworthy, Claude (Olga) Noseworthy, Ray (Annie) Noseworthy, Pergolis (Judy) Noseworthy and Scott (Barbara) Noseworthy. She also leaves her grandchildren: Madonna (Clayton) Reid (her caregiver for 17 years), Tony (Roslind), Dennis (Pearl), Shannon (Mark), Adam (Lisa), Marina (Ron) and large number of great-grandchildren and a circle of other relatives and friends. Lieutenants Thomas and Kristie Marsh conducted the funeral service from The Salvation Army Citadel, Botwood on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 with interment at the Botwood Community Cemetery. Pallbearers are Roy Short, Clayton Lewis, Keith LeDrew, Pergolis Noseworthy, Bradley Reid and Gordon Noseworthy.
Special thank you to everyone at the Golden Years Estates for all the love and care you showed Vera during her stay there. She loved you all dearly. Also thanks to all the staff on 3A and doctors at the CNLRHC. You added comfort to my nan with so much love and compassion, as you did with all of us during her short stay. It will never go on noticed. So thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Last but not lease. Special thanks to my cousin Esme LeDrew, you were and are my rock for being there for me and your aunt Vera. We love you so much. ~ Madonna and family.
