John A. Bailey

It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of a great son, uncle, nephew and friend. John passed peacefully away at the Carmelite Palliative Care Unit after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 58 years of age. He was a real trooper and fought until the very end with only one thing on his mind, his loving mother and who would care for her. Once he knew things were in place for her, he gave himself to the Lord and started his journey home. John is predeceased by his sister Elizabeth; brother Howard Jr.; grandparents: Lloyd and Emma Pelley and John and Lydia Bailey. He leaves to mourn his mother, Laura Bailey; Father, Howard Bailey; fur baby Mimi; as well as many aunts, uncles and friends.

Public visitation will take place at Hoksins Funeral Home in Grand Falls-Windsor on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9. Pastor Geoffrey Ryan will conduct the funeral service at Hoskins Funeral Home in Grand Falls-Windsor on Thursday at 11 a.m. with interment at the Windsor Pentecostal cemetery. Pallbearers are Wayne Lewis, Paul Callahan, Boyde LeDrew, Jim Hillier, Ross Thomas. Honorary Pallbearer George Champion.

The family would like to thank all the nurses and doctors of the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, the Carmelite Palliative Care Unit, and Ruth Wells who made John's last days as comfortable as they could be.

Funeral service will be livestreamed on the Hoskins Funeral Homes facebook page

If tears could build a stairway

And memories a lane.

I'd walk right up to heaven

and bring you home again.
