Patrick Joseph Collins

Passed peacefully away on Decemebr 25, 2021 Patrick Joseph Collins at Botwood Hospital; after suffering a long battle with cancer. He was 89 years old. Patrick was born on February 27, 1932 in Grand Falls-Windsor. Patrick lived a full life beginning as a Leading Seaman in Gunnery of the Royal Canadian Navy from 1951 to 1971. He was a dedicated member of the Windsor and Botwood Legions. He was also employed with Atlantic Building Materials and Manager of the Windsor Legion. Patrick took great passion in gardening growing his veggies and flowers sharing his crop with neighbours and friends. He loved nature; spending most of his time outside watching the birds saying he should charge them rent for living in the birdhouses he built for them. He had an amazing sense of humour! He loved animals, especially his cat Kandi. He also enjoyed music and loved to dance whether at a family function or at home in his kitchen; even while using his walker!

He was predeceased by his mother Isabelle Collins (nee Lewis) and father Patrick Collins; brothers George Collins, Vince Collins, David Collins and sisters Bertha, Mary and Jean and Great Granddaughter Sara Mouland. Left to mourn are his sisters Barbara Sheppard, Annabelle Bouzane, Sheila Hiscock, Katherine Basha and Norma Hutchens (Don). His son Christopher Collins (Dallas), daughters Judith Mouland and Kimberley Collins. His Grandson Michael Mouland who was Patrick’s rock and closest friend was there for him when he needed someone the most. His Grandsons, Matthew Mouland, Patrick Collins and Joshua Collins. His Granddaughters Michelle Mouland, Krista Collins and Patricia Collins. Along with many Great Grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Patrick will be sadly missed by all who loved him.

As per Patrick’s wishes, he will be cremated and interment to follow at Green Wood Brook and with his parents at their grave. There will be no funeral service, but a celebration of his life will follow at a later time. Donations in Patrick memory can be made at your local SPCA and Legion.
