Passed peacefully away Emily (Emmie) Sparkes on November 17, 2021 at the Central NL Regional Health Care Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor. She was 84 years of age. Born December 17, 1936 the fourth oldest child of fourteen children to Gladys Pike and Wesley Rendell, Sr. Emmie was a very special person, loved by everyone who knew her, a very giving person who loved children. Emmie operated a daycare for 27 years in Grand Falls, resulting in making lifelong friends. Two special friends Isabel Crawley and Gertrude Ryan.
Predeceased by her parents Gladys and Wesley Rendell, sister Carrie (Duncan), brothers Arthur and Blair Rendell. Leaving to mourn are three sons; Brian (Daphne), Barry (Laura), Johnny (Joanne); daughter Sharon (Pete) Apted and special daughter Kim O’Neil. Also leaving to mourn 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; brothers: Wesley (Avis), Richard (Joyce), Dexter (Joan), Hughie (Pauline), Jack (Mary), Keith (Nathalie); sisters Mable (Oliver) Perry, Una (Bob) Small, Barb (Fred) Reid, Evelyn Rendell (Raymond Masson), sisters-in-law Hazel and Floss as well as a long list of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Friday from 2-4 at Hoskins Funeral Home, Bishop’s Falls. Please have your Vaxpass with you. Funeral Service will be conducted by Pastor Greg Patey (by invitation only) at Hoskins Funeral Home, Bishop’s Falls on Saturday, November 20th. Interment will follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery.
