With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Wilbert Alonzo Pelley, at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Center, Botwood. He was 76 years of age.
Wilbert was born on January 16, 1944 to Stephen and Ivy Pelley of Summerford, NL.
Wilbert was a hard worker and dearly loved his wife and family. He enjoyed fishing, which he did for a number of years. He loved the woods and was very particular about packing it in the shed and the wood box. He worked in a sawmill, worked at Buchan’s Mine, he was a mail carrier in Toronto and he also worked in a fish plant in New Brunswick. Even in his last days, Wilbert’s mind was very smart. He was very strong for his family, making jokes and always saying or doing something to make them all laugh, which made it so much easier for all of them.
Wilbert was predeceased by his parents Stephen and Ivy Pelley; brother Linister; sister Gertie; brothers-in-law Gerald and Ronald; sister-in-law Mabel. He leaves to mourn his wife Florence of 50 years, children Barry (Zelma), Marina (Owen), Joanne, Jason (Denine), Mark (Michelle); grandchildren Brandon, Monica, Brianna, Patrick, Cameron, Noah, Ethan, Caleb, Chayce; great grandchildren Rae Lynn and Reyanne. Also left to mourn are his sisters Minnie, Maisie (Roger), Marilyn (Lorne), brother Tom (Betty), brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Wilbert will be deeply missed, but he will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to have known him.
RIDE OUT YOUR STORM
Ride out your storm, God is there with you
You may not feel him, but you're not alone
You're hurting now, but your morning is coming
Just hold on to Jesus, and ride out your storm
