Obituary of Wallace Head

Passed peacefully away on August 29, 2017 at the Carmelite Palliative Care Unit, Wallace Clifford Head at the age of 79 years. Mr. Head retired from Newfoundland Power in 1993 where he worked as a Hydro Operator. Wallace enjoyed hunting, berrypicking, fly tying and most of all salmon fishing. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He was never happier then when he was on the river. Wallace was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Mildred; parents-in-law Charlie and Emma Baker; brother Barry and sister Robina. He leaves to mourn his wife Gwendolyn (Baker); sons: Paul (Kimberley), Randy (Brenda), David (Tracy), Peter (Charlene); daughter Ruth (Gerry). He also leaves to mourn his sister Shirley (Harvey); brothers: Valmond (Vera), Eugene (Loretta), Austin (Lily), Gary (Stella); sister-in-law Hazel Budgell, his grandchildren: Jennifer (Art), Daniel (Andy), Dakota (Gavin), Devaughn, Rachael (Evan), Steven, Jordan, Jacob, Emily, Jessica, Olivia; great-grandchildren: Austen, Autumn, Acen, Ellie and Bailey and a circle of other relatives and friends. Wallace was known in the community for his unwavering faith and generosity.

Pastor Robert Hamlyn and Eugene Head will conduct the funeral service at Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle, Bishop's Falls on Friday, September 1 with interment to follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Sunset Drive.

Pallbearers will be David, Peter, Gerry, Ruth, Jordan and Jake.
