Obituary of Joseph Power

Passed away on August 3rd, 2017 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor. Joseph Power at the age of 96 years. Mr. Power retired from Abitibi Price Paper Mill after 45 years of service. He served in the Royal Navy during WWII, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion here in Grand Falls-Windsor. He is predeceased by his mother and step-father, Lillian and Paddy Healey; wife, Eileen; son, Albert; sisters, Liza and Viola; and grandchildren, Jamie, Jason, Brent, Joey and Mark. Left to mourn are sons, Ronald (Doris), David (Yvonne), Patrick (Mary-Lou), Arthur, and Clancy (Donna); and daughters, Florence (Gerry) Pole, and Vera (Owen) Warford. Also left to mourn are sisters, Clara, Doris and families; brothers, Jim, Art and families; 22 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren, and a circle of other relatives and friends. Majors Larry and Judy Goudie will conduct the funeral service at Park Street Citdal on Monday, August 7, 2017. Interment will follow the service at the Salvation Army Cemetery on Caribou Road. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Home in Grand Falls-Windsor. Pallbearers are grandsons, Tyson, Paul, Tim, Tommy, Ronnie and David. Honorary pallbearers are grandsons Norman Power and Cyril Power. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Joseph's memory can be made to the Royal Canadian Legion - Branch 12.
